We are running a multi-station multi-user MYOB environment, with one computer using MYOB Premier V19.10 and others using MYOB AccountRight Plus v19+.
One of the users (using MYOB AccountRight Plus v19.5) when trying to open up MYOB files stored on our NAS has received an error message "Can't measure free disk space".
I have been able to open up the files (in MYOB Premier V19.10) this user tried to open, and have not had any issues with the MYOB files. Another user using MYOB AccountRight Plus v19.6 was also able to access the MYOB files without issue.
The user is operating from a PC with a partioned HDD, as the computer is shared by two staff members.
Any idea how to fix this issue (please note we have tried rebooting the machine).
The problem was resolved by running the MYOB as administrator (right clicking on MYOB icon), and then closing the file & reopening as normal.
However, what caused the problem is still a mystery.
Hi, how do I show the annual figures in the 'budgeted' column for the P&L Budget Analysis Report rather than the monthly figures?
That's great to know,
You may find the following thread on using NAS storage devices has some additional information for future use.
Please do post again should you have any further queries.
I suggest you run the P&L Budget Analysis report and export it to Excel.
If your financial year is July to June, go to Accounts / Accounts List/ Account Information / Budgets and print the P&L budget for the current year. When the print preview screen comes up, click the arrow above Run Report, to export it to Excel..
The budget totals are on the right (you might have to zoom in to see them).
If you have a calendar year, you will have to restore a backup of your last financial year to a temporary file and repeat the above process (assuming that year has account budgets).
If you need to regularly run a budget analysis with annual budgets, have a look at the extra AccountRight reports available from Smart Reports in Brisbane. If you are a non-profit, you could also look at Calxa Premier from Calxa in Townsville.
Hi,
I have just upgraded to AccountRight 2014.4.16 and I would like to know if there is a way that I can change the info showing on the Cash Flow Statement. In particular rather than just showing one figure for the Net Cash Flow from Operating Activities I would like to break this figure down into three categories pursuant to my business ie. Receipts from Members and Clients; Payments to Suppliers and Employees and Interest Received so that the MYOB report matches what my accountant produces. Is there a way of doing this as the only field available under the Show Hide button is Account No.
Best Regards,
Mrs G Jayawardhana
I am attempting to upload my Accountright plus company file to the cloud, which results in a message telling me my serial number doesnt match my account. I have checked my MyMyob account and the company file serial number is there in my product list, as well as an old product serial number. I am definately using the same login info when i log in from Accountright plus.
Any guidance would be appreicted.
Cheers
Derek
Hi
Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge
AccountRight will only display the Budget Analysis report for Profit and Loss accounts as a total for the selected period. You are unable to select it for a per month basis.
You do have two options to get that information for the Budgeted value on a per month basis. Run the report on a per month basis or export the data out to Excel.
Hello, I set the default account as you suggested. However this did not work. Any other work-around you can suggest? Thank you.
Hi there
First of all, please allow me to extend you a warm welcome to the Community Forum. I hope you find it a valuable resource.
Changing from AccountRight v19 to v2014 some of the reports were re-designed, and some reports are not introduced, Cash Flow Analysis report from v19 is one of them.
The only cash flow report in v2014 is the Statement of Cash Flow report, which doesn't show the transaction details. If you wish to see Cash Flow Analysis report being introduced to the new AccountRight, I would encourage you to add you support by voting on this AccountRight Idea - Cash Flow Analysis. The more votes it get the highest chance it would be implemented.
Hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to post again if you have further queries.
Hi there
Firstly, let me extend to you a very warm welcome to the Community Forum. We do hope you find it a valuable resource for getting the most out of your software.
I'll need to have a look at your account to narrow down what the cause of the issue is - I've sent you a private message requesting additional information, and hopefully we'll be able to get things sorted out quickly.
Please feel free to post again anytime you require additional assistance.
Hi all,
I work for a SBE and the boss has paid for a Xmas dinner for staff and partners - it works out to less than $300 per employee and so I gather is exempt from FBT as a minor benefit.
My question is, how to code it in MYOB - is it an expense and should it be a different ledger code , ie staff xmas....
thanks
Steve

Hi there
Unfortunately, there is no option to have inactive accounts from appearing in the Prepare Budgets list. This is because all marking an account as inactive does is it informs the software to no longer display the account from 'Select from List' options, such as when choosing an account in the Enter Sales window (in other words, to render it no longer usable from the point of it being marked as inactive). However, it does not prevent it from showing up in other areas, as it may still contain information or transactions that are required and will need to be examined in the future (e.g. for reporting purposes).
I do agree that in the case with budgeting, having an option to stop inactive accounts from appearing may be useful, and one that a lot of clients may benefit from. As such, it may be worthwhile to post the idea on the AccountRight Idea Exchange, which serves as a place where our clients can suggest features and changes to improve the software. As our developers do try and take in popular ideas posted on the board, it is a great way for us to get feedback from clients on what they would want to see in future releases of the product.
Please feel free to post again anytime you require further assistance.
A good suggestion - you might like to post it in the Ideas Exchange
You can still export to Excel - via Acrobat Reader’s conversion tool, it you have Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader :
- Display the report on your screen
- In the blue box above “run report” select “Export - PDF” and save the file – e.g. to C:\Temp
- On the Internet, to www.acrobat.com and sign-up for a 12 month subscription to
Adobe ExportPDF. It’s very reasonable – only AUD$23 per year, for unlimited use.
- Then open your Acrobat Reader and go to Tools – ExportPDF files.
Select the PDF file you saved above and click “Convert to Excel”
Adobe will then sign you in, upload the file to Adobe.com, convert it & tell you when it’s finished.
You can then click “View Converted files” to download your file, in Excel format.
- You can also use the same process to download to MS Word or Rich Text Format.
If you'd like to link your MYOB to Excel or similar software, for budgeting and forecasting, you might like to have a look at these products from the Add-Ons page: Calxa Express from Calxa and Castaway from Castaway Forecasting

Did you get any sort of error message that may shed light on what the particular issue was? Typically, in regards to uploading ABA files to the bank, errors that occur during this process is something we recommend you contact the bank about, as it was not an error generated from within the software. However, it may be a simple case of the bank requiring certain details or a particular format which the ABA file did not contain (e.g. certain banks require the option to 'include a self-balancing transaction' selected - if this has not been ticked under the Accounts List > Account Information > Banking tab in the Accounts command center, this will result in an error).
I'd also like to ask about what you mean by 'need an application for the tablet to be able to read such a file'? Did you attempt to open up the ABA file prior to uploading it to the bank? If so, that might be another reason as to why you may have encountered issues as that is typically not advised.
Please let us know how you go, or if you have any other queries.
Suggest a new expense code - e.g. 62200 Staff Entertain NonDed Non FBT with tax code FRE
Off premises: Christmas dinners or parties held off premises; for staff, their associates and partners; where the cost per person is $300 or less; are exempt from FBT, cannot be claimed as a tax deduction and do not have a GST credit..
On premises and only for current employees: Food & drink provided on a working day, on the employer's premises, and only consumed by current employees, is exempt from FBT and non-deductible. Also no GST credit.
(For FBT, it's an exempt property benefit)

Hey
Thanks for your query.
Glad you were able to get the balance sitting correctly and I hope the information that Marilyn and Kym advised is also helpful. Not quite sure what you mean by the $10 carrying forward from the previous month from your attachment, I am unable to see this.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with further.
Hi Steve (
A very warm welcome to the MYOB Community Forum. I hope you find this to be a useful tool.
